About.com Guide to Boston

In 2003, Sonja arrived in Boston to do a three-month journalism internship; she never left. She lives and works in the heart of Boston in the beautiful, historic, and wildly overpriced Beacon Hill neighborhood.

Experience:

Sonja works full time as the assistant editor of UU World magazine, a Unitarian Universalist publication where she is also the author of a weekly news blog. She is also the managing editor of InterConnections. Before moving to Boston she wrote and edited for a variety of community calendars and university publications, including The Western Front, Klipsun magazine, and The Planet magazine, as well as having freelance articles published in newspapers such as The Bellingham Herald.

Education:

She holds a BA degree from Western Washington University where she studied journalism, public relations, and history.

From Sonja Cohen:

Boston has a lot to offer and I enjoy finding its hidden treasures. I've lived here long enough to know the ropes but not so long that I don't remember what it was like to be a newbie, full of questions about my new home. Getting to know a city is an ongoing adventure and I look forward to sharing it with you.
